Road ID – the Other American Express

Don’t Leave Home Without It

We all have that American Express tag line emblazoned in our memories.  And, I must admit, I always take my Amex card with me.

But on Tour de USA 2010, I also took my Road ID.

Don't Leave Home Without It

I’ve used the dog tag version of Road ID for several years riding my bicycle, but for Tour de USA I took the extra precaution of ordering a bracelet and activated the associated online service.

I’m allergic to x-ray contrast dye, and an inadvertent injection would result in an anaphylactic reaction – not a good thing!

Worked Like a Champ!

Since I had no incidents, obviously no issues with bracelet, other than it got dirty out there in the wind for 48 days.

Seriously, though, I now wear the band constantly.

Put One on Your Kids?

I think this would be a stellar idea, especially for young people taking their first road trips – on whatever mode of transportation.
