Little Rock Really Does Rock!

Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation

The Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation (APCF), led by Executive Director Helen Baldwin, manages the best program I have found.

The APCF has extensive awareness and free testing programs and is working closely with Arkansas state officials to further improve and expand their efforts.

The APCF has a great team, including Jeana Vaughn who made all of the arrangements for my activities during my three day visit.

Here are the people that get it done, with Executive Director Helen Baldwin at right and Jeana Vaughn second from left.  If you have prostate cancer in Arkansas, you are in good hands.

Strong Support from the Arkansas State Legislature

State Representative Fred Allen was the driving force behind the legislation in Arkansas that requires insurance companies to cover prostate cancer testing beginning at age 40.

Representative Fred Allen

Representative Allen receives a Tour de USA 2010 patch and I am now an honorary Razorback.  But, wait until you see the Arkansas Traveler award in the next post!
