Accidental Survivor Stricken with Foot In Mouth Disease

News Years Resolution Number 3.  Busted!

One of my key goals for this year is to be less opinionated and more respectful of other perspectives.

In Tuesday’s post about our meeting at the governor’s office in Raleigh, I noted that the heat and humidity delivered us to the office in a pretty ‘drippy’ state.  Looking for a cute hook to the sentence, I made a completely inappropriate comment about not having a tattoo.

Called to Task – and Rightly So

This morning I received an email from one of my staunchest supporters pointing out the shallowness of the remark and reminding me about my many lectures on stereotyping.

She was so absolutely correct!  Thank you, Q.

To all of the readers of this blog, I offer my most sincere apology.  And I hope that you will continue to hold me accountable.

Warm regards,  Robert
