So, Just What is a Prostate?
The Pennsylvania state capitol complex is beautiful, and the downtown area in Harrisburg surrounding the capitol is buzzing.
For the first time during the trip, the governor’s receptionist was uncomfortable being photographed for the blog. But she did dutifully accept all of the information and promise to relay is on the the governor. She was pretty young, though, and I’m not certain she really knew much about the prostate thing.
There were some journalists around so I jumped in front of the lectern and gave a 25 second pitch on prostate cancer and the Tour de USA.
Route 15, Gettysburg, and Western Maryland
I rode Route 15 south from Harrisburg to Virginia. It’s been widened to four lans and wends its way through beautiful western Pennsylvania and Maryland, passing right through the Gettysburg National Park area. It was toasty warm, but it was good to see the many people visiting the battlefield.
The downtown Gettysburg square reminds me very much of the central squares in small towns in Germany and France. If you visit, I recommend the carrot cake at the “Pub & Restaurant,” right on the square.
They Love Me in Sterling, VA!!!
I was able to schedule a few days downtime here in Virginia with my daughter and grandson. Aren’t families wonderful? Imagine rolling in and finding this sign? How fun.
